My 'Snark Byte' Made It Into LinkedIn News: Should I Feel Proud?
Should I be proud that my post was featured in LinkedIn News for the first time? You tell me.

I took a jab at the U.S. Department of Justice, comparing it to Wile E. Coyote—yes, the cartoon character known for his relentless but futile pursuits. And boom, that’s what grabs headlines? Not the painstaking research I’ve been sweating over. The irony is thicker than a triple-cheeseburger at a ViVE health conference.
Let’s cut through the noise and look at which of my research should have been splashed across the news:
1️⃣ A months-long deep dive into the quagmire of Babylon Health Fraud. The sheer audacity of it all.
2️⃣ Olive AI’s venture capital ‘bros’ injecting a cool billion into a company that’s more indecisive than a teenager at a Starbucks. Olive “pivoted” 27 times. Even a fifth-grader would scream, “Red flag!” Sure enough, Olive AI met its demise not long afterward.
3️⃣ Cigna’s elegant ‘pump and dump’ scam. Classic.
4️⃣ Cigna’s CEO morphing into a billionaire off the company’s paycheck on the backs of members counting pennies to cover their next meal. A modern-day Robin Hood tale, but in reverse.
5️⃣ The ‘champagne and cocaine’ life of health nonprofit CEOs. Because nothing says “I care about your health” quite like a second mega yacht.
6️⃣ The grotesque misuse of health AI, where patient care is sacrificed at the altar of multi-billion dollar healthcare conglomerates’ profits.
7️⃣ My golden list: 12 Best Practices for AI in Healthcare. Apparently too boring for the news cycle.
8️⃣ Walgreens taking “irresponsible” to new heights with its acquisition of VillageMD.
9️⃣ Teladoc’s stunning disregard for fiduciary duty in their leveraged buyout of Livongo, at the “advice” of their venture capital overlords. Because who cares about responsibility when there’s money to be made?
1️⃣0️⃣ The Telehealth Masquerade. Telehealth is a glorified phone call between a doctor and a patient. It should be a medical tool, not an industry.
1️⃣1️⃣ Legislative gold for healthcare incumbents: the HITECH Act, the Affordable Care Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Innovation in healthcare? Crushed under the weight of bureaucracy.
1️⃣2️⃣ “We Bought a Hospital We Couldn’t Afford”—the sequel no one asked for, starring Summa Health as Steward Health 2.0.
1️⃣3️⃣ Why on Earth would the biggest players in AI want to be regulated? It’s like asking for a speed limit at the Indy 500.
1️⃣4️⃣ A comprehensive autopsy of recent digital health failures. Lessons? Unlearned.
So, should I be proud? In a world of social media that prefers the spectacle of a quick jab over substantive critique, maybe. But let’s not confuse virality with value. The real stories, the ones that dig into the marrow of systemic issues, languish in the shadows. And that’s the real tragedy here, especially in healthcare, where lives are often at stake. I’m speaking in broad terms, not just about my own research.
Any thoughts?
