Welcome to AI Health Uncut, a brutally honest newsletter on AI, innovation, and the state of the healthcare market. If you’d like to sign up to receive issues over email, you can do so here.

Thank you for your patience—I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting Part 2. Investigations like this aren’t easy, especially as a one-man operation, so your support means a lot.

Part 2 of my Hippocratic AI investigation is the most crucial one, in my view. In it, I explore the company’s business model and corporate culture, uncovering critical insights and drawing parallels with several disturbing digital health failures we’ve witnessed in recent years: Theranos, Babylon, Forward Health, Olive AI, and IBM Watson at MD Anderson. There are valuable lessons here.

To protect my work and prevent unauthorized web crawling (a polite way of saying “theft” by Large Language Models (LLMs) and other algorithms), I’m placing this investigation behind a paywall. This means you won’t find these details just by prompting OpenAI’s “Deep Research.” 😉

However, if payment is a barrier (for instance, if you’re a student or between jobs), I’ve created an exclusive community—the AI Health Uncut Founding Member Club—which, I’m proud to say, continues to grow. A portion of membership fees supports access for those who otherwise couldn’t afford it. Just DM me if you’re experiencing financial need.

Consider becoming a Founding Member of AI Health Uncut. By joining this dedicated group, you’ll support critical research and investigative work that challenges the system and advocates for meaningful improvements in healthcare through AI, technology, policy, and beyond.

Thank you for your continued support!

A quick reminder—if you’re in Dallas or Austin from March 6–12 and want to grab coffee or a bite, please DM me. I’m honored to be speaking on two panels at the SXSW conference (details here and here).

Also, if you’re in NYC on March 19, don’t miss my Health2Tech talk, “The Mass Extinction of Digital Health Startups.” This talk is the culmination of two years of deep research into dozens of digital health companies, exploring why some (well, most!) fail and why others succeed. Oh baby, this one is shaping up to be big—register for free here.

All right, let’s dive in.

What did we learn in Part 1 of this Hippocratic AI investigation?

1. Healthcare VC funding and connections are tightly controlled by the healthcare VC mafia, led by its undisputed Godfather, Hemant Taneja.

2. There are 5 cardinal rules every associate and “made man” in this healthcare mafia follows.

3. Hippocratic AI appears to be another classic pump-and-dump operation, with co-founders and executives repeatedly unloading millions in shares on secondary markets.

4. With at least 17 pending lawsuits against Health IQ, Hemant Taneja and Munjal Shah had already begun cooking up their next scheme—Hippocratic AI.

5. Hippocratic AI’s CEO Munjal Shah has been publicly labeled a “Healthtech Fraudster” and a “Criminal,” raising concerns about him bringing the same questionable practices to Hippocratic AI.

6. Hippocratic AI currently holds the dubious honor of being the world’s most expensive AI company—despite lacking a scalable (or even functional) product.

In Part 2, we’ll uncover:

1. What exactly Hippocratic AI is selling.

2. What’s really under the hood of its “AI agents.”

3. The reality behind “AI nurses”—and the human nurses tasked with babysitting them.

4. Whether Hippocratic AI fine-tuned its models using confidential insurance or health data obtained from Health IQ.

5. The toxic corporate culture, code of silence, and reliance on H-1B/O-1 visa “slavery.”

6. The real mission behind my months-long investigation into Hippocratic AI—and what I aim to accomplish.

As I’ve repeatedly emphasized, I’m deeply humbled and profoundly grateful to the brave men and women stepping forward to share their experiences. Without their courage, the truth about these companies might remain unknown. Their stories give us a chance to prevent catastrophic collapses—or at the very least, learn valuable lessons from their mistakes, mismanagement, and sometimes outright fraud.

Disclaimer. While I drew extensively from my interviews with current and former Hippocratic AI employees and business partners—as well as my research and analysis—the opinions expressed here are my own. That said, I hope my track record proves that my conclusions are always rooted in facts.

I have no personal or financial interest in any of the companies or individuals mentioned in this investigation, whether in their success or failure. My only goal is to inform the public about what’s happening in American healthcare—critical information that would otherwise remain hidden. (Do you see corporate media covering this? I don’t.)

Here’s the TL;DR of Parts 1 and 2:

1. The Healthcare VC Mafia

2. The Healthcare VC Mafia Rules

3. Is Munjal Shah a “Healthcare Fraudster” and a “Criminal”?

4. How Did Munjal Shah Escape Accountability?

5. Hippocratic AI: A New Venture or the Same Old Scam?

6. Hippocratic AI: The World’s Most Expensive AI Company—Without a Scalable (or Any) Product Yet

7. What the Hell is Hippocratic AI Selling? Vaporware and Vibes.

8. Hippocratic AI: AI Agents or BS Agents?

9. The $9/Hour AI Nurse… with a $45/Hour Human Chaperone

10. Ethical Concerns Surrounding Hippocratic AI’s “AI Agent” Program for Clinicians

11. Alleged (Mis)use of Insurance and Health Data from Health IQ

12. Toxic Workplace, H-1B Slavery, and the Code of Silence

13. Don’t Confuse Hippocratic AI’s Employees with Its Management

14. Hippocratic AI Echoes Familiar Disaster Patterns in Digital Health

15. The Mission Behind My Hippocratic AI Investigation

16. Conclusion: A Deeply Shady Tale of Hippocratic AI

Let’s get into it.
